Xia Ming, the vice president of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Nanjing Sub-Council, detailed that 10,700 activities (conferences, ceremonies, and exhibitions) were held in Nanjing in 2009, up by 30.5%. With 19 international and national exhibitions, Nanjing has developed 25 shows of its own brands.
Xia also said as an emerging industry exhibitions require government supports or investment to start, but when it grows the government must retreat.
